WHO WE ARE

Shortly after their arrival from Australia in 2007 Christophe and Melissa, created ‘English at Biarritz’. Parents of seven children, they were naturally drawn to teaching English to children but they also enjoyed opening the school to teens and adults.

Now, our teachers come from a range of backgrounds


LEARN ENGLISH WITH US

From beginners to advanced, English at Biarritz exist to develop your competency in English.

The English curriculum for children and teens aims to complement their English studies at school as well as improve their overall language skills.


ENGLISH SCHOOL

CLASSES FOR CHILDREN AND TEENAGERS:

Weekly classes are available for students (5 to 18 years old) during the school year. Primary aged classes occur Wednesday and Saturday mornings while college and lycée aged classes occur Wednesday and Saturday afternoons. We also offer private classes at various times. Primary school courses give students the opportunity to learn English through a stimulating program, teaching children to communicate in English through games, songs and other activities.

Our high school lessons focus on oral communication as well as written work. In our teaching we cover the core basics of communication, such as speaking and pronunciation, writing and grammar, listening and understanding.

Students will improve their listening and speaking skills, expand their vocabulary and develop confidence.

English at Biarritz is responsible for allocating students into the class that best corresponds to their level and needs. Students can not choose a particular class or teacher.


ADULT CLASSES:

Adult classes are available September to June, from Monday to Saturday. Times and levels can be tailored to your needs and your schedule.

These classes consolidate and develop all aspects of the English language.


CONVERSATION CLASSES:

English at Biarritz offers conversation classes to improve oral communication skills. These classes include speaking and listening practice. Students will have the opportunity to work on their pronunciation and fluency. They will engage in discussion-based learning with a diverse group of people and will develop their skills in public speaking. Students will discuss English culture and current topics. Our small class size ensures that teachers get to know each student’s personality and areas of interest. It also allows the tutor to focus on the immediate needs of the students whilst improving listening and speaking skills, expanding vocabulary and developing confidence.

You will be required to undertake an oral and written test in order for us to ascertain your level of English. This will enable us to place you in the most suitable class.

A one-hour lesson costs 10€.
